General Eisenhower Arrives

On the 27th of September, 1946, General Dwight D. Eisenhower arrived at Southampton, England, accompanied by his wife, after what was then the fastest ship's crossing of the Atlantic, in the liner Queen Mary. Their son Captain John Eisenhower flew from Austria to meet them, and is pictured shaking hands with General Eisenhower.
